Sometimes when buying dental insurance, people are only thinking about what their current dental needs are. They forget to think what they may need in the future. The benefits of this type of insurance plan is that it is low in cost. Many of these types of preventive only care insurance plans are PPO’s or free choice of provider plans. However, when buying this types of plan it is important to understand there is no covered benefits for anything beyond office visits, X-rays and basic cleanings (few may cover fillings) Therefore the down side is when and if you ever need to have any larger dental service render there will be no coverage available for you. So just think twice before buying a preventive care only plan.
