Consulate Dental Plans, Oral gum sore
Question: I have an open sore on my bottom left gum that has been here for a week and its getting no better. At first I though it was a canker sore since I had them in the past but it is white in the center, oval shaped and quite large. I have gargled Listerine and salt, yet it will not get any better.
Answer: Go see your dentist to confirm what the sore may be. It could be another canker sore, yet it also could be a tooth abscess depending on where this sore is. Abscess is an infection and you do not want to wait to get that treated. Seeing a dentist would be the best option if what you are currently doing is not working.
